David Macfarlane is available to tune harpsichords for rehearsals and performances, as well as to perform maintenance tasks such as replacing plectra, replacing strings, adjusting stagger, and dealing with all those little issues that should be attended to periodically. His formal training was in Vienna, receiving the highest mark ever awarded at the end of the year long course he undertook at the Musikhochschule.

David performs the maintenance tasks for the harpsichords owned by the University of Melbourne, and has tuned for Monash University, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Past Echoes, the Autumn Chamber Music Festival, the Melbourne International Festival of Organ and Harpsichord, Musica Viva and Christ Church Brunswick.
